Directions Soška Pot - hike in Slovenia:

The hike begins at the source of the Soča.From the Koča pri izviru Soče hut we climb uphill for about 15 minutes. The last few meters are secured with a wire rope. The origin of the river is a siphon spring: underground, the water rises into a small karst cave and collects in a turquoise blue basin. The Soča bubbles from here cheerfully down the mountain.

The hiking trail is very well named Soška Pot.

During the tour you cross the river several times on adventurous suspension bridges the best view of the bubbling Soča, which offers partly very narrow gorges and the surrounding mountains. The river squeezes in some places like the Mala Korita between bizarre rocks and picturesque columns. This is the ideal resting place for tired hikers. The brave can jump from the rocks, although the real challenge is the icy water temperature, even in midsummer. As the valley progresses, the valley becomes wider. At the mouth of the Koritnica into the Sočaends the actual Soška Pot. From here it's about an hour to the bus stop in Bovec.

The website of the Slovenian Alpine Club_11100000-0000- 0000-0000-000000000111_is a bit confusing and only available in English, but this is the best place to check which huts are open and whether hiking trails/via ferratas are currently closed.
